Concept
Program Outline
The purpose of this program is to cultivate human resources, those that can be policy makers based on sociological ideas. GP offers two main educational programs: the education of cultivating "Socio-literacy (the basic ability to organize/describe/analyze society)," and the education of "social research." Through this education, we aim to create a new graduate educational program that cultivates the skills for perceiving and analyzing various problems in the present society and gaining practical knowledge for them. The educational programs are as follows:
The program for cultivating socio-literacy education
The education of socio-literacy has an obvious purpose, for which the curriculum is constructed through three main genres: "Theory/formal model," "Fieldwork/qualitative methods," and "Qualitative research data collection and presentation."
The program of social research education
Social research education connects socio-literacy with social practice. Through coordinating and practicing collaborated surveys and workshops with the city or with other universities at home and abroad, graduate students can gain practical knowledge and skills that include the ability to make presentations abroad using English as a mediator or tool.
