This forum is based on sociological and folkloristic studies among young graduate researchers and research associates of Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) and Beijing Normal University (BNU), and aims at constructing theories and methods for joint field research in Eastern Asian societies in the globalized age. Additionally, we also intend to enable graduate students and research associates to acquire the practical skills of research and publish the research findings worldwide, by organizing collaborative international workshops.
With the opening of the first workshop "The East Asian joint fieldwork in the globalized age", we will also conduct a survey research on the city landscape at Qian Men in Beijing, which has been dramatically changed and reconstructed. For the following year, the East Asian joint fieldwork has been planned on the theme of "The change of the city landscape and the reconstruction of the historical environment".
